Can a pair of eyes see the world

When the fast-paced city life meets

the lotus pond’s quiet evening scene,

Tempera’s poetic painting meets

the city’s realistic delicate image.

The tension between movement and stillness, abstraction and realism, poetic aesthetics, and realistic portrayal will all be presented in the exhibition "Phenomenon" by Nancy’s Gallery this September.

艺术家介绍

杜海军 Du Haijun

艺术家杜海军生于江苏宜兴，毕业于中国美术学院，现居上海。他在国内外多次举办展览，数次获得艺术界大奖，包括第十一届全国美展优秀奖，法国沙龙特邀评审团颁出的绘画类金奖。他的作品被中国美术馆，韩国领事馆，香港海港城等收藏，并曾应邀在斯洛伐克驻北京大使馆展出。

在杜海军的作品中，我们可以看到他对都市化的理解，以及这样的方寸空间是如何低声诉说着城市生活的秘密的。

Born in Jiangsu province in 1978, Du Haijun graduated from China Academy of Art and now living in Shanghai. He has participated in either domestic and international exhibitions and was awarded for many prizes, including the Golden Award for the International Salon of France. Du’s work demonstrates his understanding of how urbanization remolds cityscape and how such squared residences whisper the secrecy of everyday drama. His "N Windows" has been collected by the National Art Museum of China, "Office Story" has been collected by the Harbor City, Hong Kong, and “Window” and “Cellist” by Korean Consulate.

廖扬 Liao Yang

艺术家廖扬二零零五年毕业于上海大学美术学院，现任职于上海大学美术学院。其作品《上海早上八点六十》入选第十八届全国版画展并获优秀作品奖；《小巷故事多》入选第十一届全国美展并获银奖；《入冬》入选第十九届全国版画展览；《迟到的公交》，入选第二十届全国版画展览并获优秀奖，《爸爸妈妈去哪儿了》获全国美展优秀奖，作品被中国美术馆、上海美术馆等机构收藏。

廖扬善于思考社会现象，捕捉生活中的精彩点滴并呈现到作品中。他的作品大多以市井生活为题材，反映高速发展的经济给人们的生活与价值观带来的冲击与思考。版画语言的冷静更为廖扬的作品注入了一种达观的态度。

肖颖 Xiao Ying

肖颖，江西南昌人，生于1977年，硕士研究生毕业于南昌大学艺术与设计学院，中国美术家协会会员。2011年结业于法国卢浮宫Julita博士Tempera理论与实践研修班，2015年结业于中央美术学院油画系欧洲丹培拉拓展研修班。

肖颖的纸上综合材料绘画，融合了传统工笔的描和染的技法，用至简的构图表达艺术家的主观情感。她将东方元素和自己的观念在作品中创新结合，传达对自然的关照以及内心朴素归真的心境。通过诗性绘画，她力图在画面中寻找一个心理空间的存在，以逃离生活和自我的困局。

Xiao Ying, born in Nanchang, Jiangxi, graduated from Art and Design College of Nanchang University. She is a member of the Chinese Artists Association. She completed the theoretical and practical training courses of Tempera under the guidance of Doctor Julita in Louvre, France, and then got further training on material art and European Tempera at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Xiao Ying’s artworks using the ancient European technique of Tempera creates a mysterious and inviting arena of art. Her mixed media works on paper, blended with the technique of delineating and dyeing in traditional Chinese collaborate-style painting, express the artist’s subjective emotions in simple compositions. She innovatively integrates elements of the east and her own understanding of art into her works to convey her care for nature and wish for simplicity.

李继 Li Ji

李继1985年出生于陕西华阴，毕业于西安美术学院油画系艺术硕士，现为西安美术学院油画系专业教师，陕西省美术家协会会员，陕西省青年美术家协会会员。

李继的创作饱含山水情怀,表现出生趣盎然的山水人文自然。他的画作色彩鲜明，笔触刚劲有力，在冗杂对象中找到绘画语言的秩序，使画面丰盈而不简单。他从东方传统艺术的智慧里，感悟和把握个人绘画的方向。在他对艺术探究的历程中，艺术主体与自然客体回归至最初的本真，直接而生动。

Li Ji, born in Shaanxi province in 1985, is a member of Shaanxi Artists Association and currently teaches in the department of oil painting in Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts. He studied in the Department of Chinese Spiritual Workshop in Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts and got his master’s degree in Oil Painting in 2012.

Li desires to capture the very original essence of nature. He concentrates on presenting the nature with vivid expression and bold outline of Chinese painting using oil materials from the west, along with forceful brushwork and vivid color, creating the profound richness in his works.

刘婷 Liu Ting

1981年生于浙江，西南大学美术学院硕士研究生，师从于著名画家马一丹。她远赴云南高校执教十余年，现在云南一艺术高校担任副教授的职位。她的画多为表现主义，毫无功利色彩的女性视角，以及一种带有鲜明主体判断的超常色光运用。她的画多为表现主义，毫无功利色彩的女性视角，以及一种带有鲜明主体判断的超常色光运用。刘婷擅长肖像绘画，但其审美诉求并不止于“小我”表达，而试图建立一种与风物及价值的有效共振。虽为江南小女子其作却独显大家风范，用色大胆、技法成熟。2015年在日本东京都美术馆参加日本东京国际美术大展，获村山富市奖，及日本众议院议长邀请接见。2017年在美国纽约切尔西艺术画廊专区举办个人专题画展，纽约艺术展览的资深评论家、AICA(国际艺术评论家协会)的成员Mary Hrbacek高度评价了刘婷的作品，并给出了相当深刻的分析与解剖,专稿发表于Culture Catch。2018年参加中国美术家协会举办的“首届全国美术高峰论坛”。

Liu Ting was born in Zhejiang province in 1981, a graduate from Southwest University whose tutor is Ma Yidan a famous contemporary artist, and has been teaching in a university in Yunnan for 10 years, a remote location of Chinese territory that inspired plentiful oil paintings from her. In Liu’s expressionistic work there is a utility-free feminine perspective and a super-natural expression of light and color with a strong subjective connotation. Liu paints portraits with an aesthetic pursuit that transcends individualism and embraces scenery and values.Though a petite woman herself, her artworks present bold use of color and mature technique of strokes, a true potential master.

张万凌 Zhang Wanling

张万凌出生于甘肃，现为国家一级美术师，中国美术家协会会员，第七届中国美协理事会理事，中国油画学会理事，民盟中央美术院常务院长，甘肃省文史研究馆馆员，甘肃省美术家协会副主席。

Zhang Wanling, born in Gansu province in 1954, is a first-rate artist. He is now a committee of the Chinese Artists Association and China Oil Painting Society, the president of the Central Academy of Arts of China Democratic League, and the vice-chairman of the Artists Association of Gansu Province.

高异 Gao Yi

高异，陕西人，职业艺术家。毕业于南京艺术学院。现定居于上海，中国民族书画院书协会员、江苏省国画院书法研究院特聘书法家、中国破格体书法家协会常务理事。

高异是一位有探索精神的创作者，作品画面感非常强烈，引人入胜，令观者赏心悦目。对于色彩的运用非常出色，给观者一种哲思的意境。他的作品好像是一部部哲学经典，既包含了传统中国哲学的精髓，也借鉴融合了西方哲学的根本。作品融合了中国画写意风格的元素和技法及书法空灵飘逸、古朴纤细之线条臆蕴，在色彩和内容上有所突破，作品呈现出强烈的视觉冲击力，形成全新的视觉感受。

Gao Yi, from Shanxi province, now living in Shanghai, is an independent Chinese character artist. He graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts and major in Chinese calligraphy and Seal Carving. He is a member of the Chinese national academy of calligraphy and painting, and the specially appointed painter in Calligraphy Research Institute of Jiangsu Province. For years Gao Yi studied and created art forms of Chinese characters with multiple possibilities beyond traditional calligraphy, which have profound thinking and foresight in it.

He has participated in many large-scale exhibitions and awards at home and abroad. (Shanghai M50, A solo exhibition at Tianzi Fang, Shanghai art fair, Group Exhibitions of Venice biennial, Britain eight-thousand-mile art show, Asia Contemporary Art Show). And his artworks are collected by collectors in Germany, Israel, Singapore, Japan, the USA, France, and Malaysia.
