从孟浩然的“荷风送香气，竹露滴清响“到周敦颐的“予独爱莲之出淤泥而不染，濯清涟而不妖”，中国传统绘画和诗词中不乏描写荷花的笔墨。它不仅是夏日月色荷塘中的美景，更是承载着文人墨客赋予的高洁人格的象征意义。

From Haoran Mengchr(39)s "Fragrance sent by the lotus wind; the clear sound of the bamboo dew" to Dunyi Zhouchr(39)s "The lotus leaves the silt without being stained; the clear wash with ripples without being evil”, Lotus has always has been a very common object described in traditional Chinese paintings and poems.It is not only the beautiful scenery described the lotus pond under summer moonlight, but also carries the symbolic significance of noble personality endowed by the literati.

中国当代也不乏以荷花为题材的艺术家，但是以此为题的油画家却为数不多，张万凌便是其中一位具有代表性的艺术家。

Oil paintings are very rare even among large amounts of artists who portray the lotus. Wanling Zhang is a representative one. Many of his works have been focused on his familiar home town, thus you could easily feel his unique emotions, which are complicated and hard to describe in words.

艺术家介绍

张万凌，1954年生于甘肃，国家一级美术师，中国美术家协会会员，第七届中国美协理事会理事，中国油画学会理事，民盟中央美术院常务院长，甘肃省文史研究馆馆员，现任甘肃省美术家协会副主席。

出生于西北的张万凌，许多油画作品都聚焦了他所熟悉和倍感亲切的家乡风光，以此寄托着他对这片土地的特有情感。这种情感是复杂的而又难以简单表述的。他的作品中充满着一种对生命力的礼赞与感叹，对这方土地上千万生灵精神强度的讴歌。

Wanling Zhang, born in Gansu province in 1954, is now a state first rated artist, committee of Chinese Artists Association and China Oil Painting Society, standing president of Central Academy of Arts of China Democratic League and the vice chairman of Artists Association of Gansu Province.

移居上海这个繁华的大都市后，他徜徉于江南的田园山色之中，开启了一段新的创作历程。他来到浙江的村落，在绿色山野，溪边青青小草中，寻找灵感。生命，对于江南而言，有着许多的轻松和自然，有着许多的舒展和惬意。张万凌感受到了一种绝然不同于西北，而只能生发于江南的感觉。

As a western painter coming from Loess Plateau, Zhang hymns the wills of mortals on a barren land and portraits the faces of folks with a high spirit. His aesthetic ideas derive not from a utopian world, but from nature and reality. The spectacular thing about his picture is that, deep down, he sees the power in every life and the rarity in tenacious souls. Therefore, his works are filled with the praise and sigh for this vitality and spiritual intensity.

万物生长，一任自然，灵动而轻松，纯净而平和，慵懒而闲适。作为油画大师朱乃正先生嫡传弟子，张万凌饱受朱先生的教诲和熏陶。他们静静地把没有来由的喧嚣置于心外，一心一意地品嚼着油画艺术内在的甘醇。

九月展览将精选张万凌近年来的作品，带领观者走近荷花的写意内涵。从落日下的荷花塘到聚焦荷花、荷叶、残茎、莲藕等元素组合，张万凌始终追求画面的立意与意境的营造。既是对荷花所代表的诗画意境的张扬，也是在寻找境之致、追求精神内涵极致表达的“妙境”。

The exhibition in September will feature Zhangchr(39)s recent artworks on various forms of lotus. From the lotus pond in sunset to the combination of lotus flowers, leaves, stems s, Zhang Wanling always pursues the idea and creation of artistic conception in the picture.
